About our Insurance Services

Set out below is information we are required to tell you. Use this information to decide if our services are right for you

WHO are we?

David E Matthews Insurance Services is an independent insurance intermediary trading from the above premises since 1973

WHOSE products do we offer?

For the majority of the products we offer we deal with a range of insures, from which we will select a policy to meet your particular needs. In these cases, we act on your behalf and accept responsibility for advice and services we provide in arranging your insurance. For those products where we deal with a range of insurers, our advice to you and information we give to you is based upon a fair analysis of the market

In some circumstances we offer the policy of a limited number of insurers or a single insurer as set out below. A list of these insurers is also available on request

  WHICH service will we provide you with?

David E Matthews insurance services will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your needs

RENEWAL Premiums paid by Instalments

In good time before renewal of your policy, we shall write to you with the renewal premium and terms for the coming year

If you have not contacted us before the renewal date, we shall renew the policy automatically on your behalf if you do not wish to renew the policy, please let us know as soon as possible, we should also advise you to cancel your direct debiting instruction with your bank prior to renewal date.

If it is your intention to renew the policy, you require no action, and the policy will renew automatically, we shall send your new certificate of insurance to you.

WHAT will you pay us for our services?

The service charges we make may be changed from time to time
The tables below show the charges applicable at the time of printing The outlet where you bought your policy will have available up to date details of the scale of charges at all times

Returned cheques £15.00 (Bank fee)
Temporary additional vehicles £10.00 plus any insurer charge
Permanent change of vehicle £10.00 plus any insurer charge

WHO regulates us?

David E Matthews Insurance Services has been granted permission under part IV of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (“FSMA) as from the 14 January 2005

We have been allocated a firm reference Number 304509

YOUR right to cancel your insurance

You have the right to cancel any insurance you buy through us and to recover any payment made (except as stated below) You can do this by giving notice to us within 14 days of your receipt of the policy documents.

If you do exercise this right to cancel your insurance, you will be charged by the insurer for the service provided up to the point of cancellation .We will also make a cancellation charge of £35.00

ARE we covered by the financial services compensation scheme?

We are covered by the financial services compensation scheme (fscs) and therefore you may be entitled to compensation from them if we should be unable to meet our obligations Further information about compensation scheme arrangements isavaiable from the FSCS
WHAT to do if you have a complaint

1. Please contact the office at 16/17 The Square on 0121 445 3307
2. We expect the majority of complaints will be quickly and satisfactorily resolved at this stage, but if you are not satisfied you can take the issue further
3. As David E Matthews insurance services is regaled by the FSA, IF YOU REMAIN DISSATISFIED WITH OUR RESPONSE TO YOUR COMPLAINT, you may refer the matter to FSA
4. Please Contact the FSA on 0845 606 1234 a full guide to making a complaint is available on request

Following the above complaints procedure will not affect your legal rights
If you have a complaint against your insurer, please refer to the policy booklet for details of your insurers complaints procedure
